Garden design for Brattle Street mansion and carriage house condominium conversion. Design problem involved creating private spaces from a single older garden while retaining mature plantings. A new garage and private entries completed this up-scale conversion.





Sarles Residence    Wellesley Hills, MA
Created extensive new planting areas and outdoor dining terrace adjacent to existing residence and new building addition. Extended usable garden area by creating planting terraces which integrated site with adjacent naturalized areas. Antique fieldstone was utilized for all retaining walls to blend with existing features.



Lewis Residence    Cambridge, MA
Garden design for restored Tudor style mansion which was divided into two luxury condominiums. Created two distinct garden areas relating to each unit while maintaining the single family image.

Developed garden plan for historic townhouse residence including bluestone terrace, water features and plantings.

Garden design for elaborate Victorian residence. Design accommodated Director's private residence and public entertainment functions of institute. $65,000

Jones Residence
Fisher Hill Estates,  Brookline, MA
Garden design for a single family residence on a historic estate setting designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted. The design includes a new terrace with stone retaining walls, entry area and general plantings to increase privacy. Extensive use of shade tolerant ground covers were used to reduce lawn area and maintenance.

Shafer Residence     Wayland, MA
Landscape plan for the reuse of a pool area which the Owner no longer utilized. Reuse included the design of a water garden incorporated with a new screen house and terrace. The front entry design focused on a new porch with arbor to create a gracious arrival area.

Hillside Avenue Residence     Canton, MA
Master plan for new owners included a new deck with plantings to increase privacy from adjacent properties. Plan addressed functional changes to site from previous owners.

Garden design for an urban, single family home. Driveway paved with decorative precast pavers can also be used as a terrace for larger gatherings.

Walnut Hill Residence     Natick, MA
Master plan incorporating new detached garage, terrace and phased landscape plan for Victorian home. Site improvements were phased over a three year period.

Parlow Residence     Cotuit, MA
Phased garden design for seasonal residence located in wooded setting on Cape Cod. Site improvements include deck with trellis, informal Japanese influence rock gardens focusing on a water garden. Planting design combined low maintenance ornamental grasses with masses of perennials.

Duchi Residence     Stow, MA
Site plan for a new contemporary residence set on eight acres. Site program included horse stables, paddocks, swimming pool, tennis courts, children's play area and gardens. Separation of activity areas for children's safety was important, as well as screening use areas from the entry drive and "public spaces". Primary consideration was given to developing a minimum maintenance design.

Leddy Residence     Wellesley Hills, MA
Redesign of vehicular and pedestrian entry to formalize and accent main entrance to the house. Stone wall and earth berm screened the roadway yet preserved the views from the main living rooms over expansive lawn. Design included ornamental planting and screening adjacent residences and commuter train station.
